Day 01 Whitehorse
Arrival in Whitehorse, the capital of the Yukon Territory. Spend the remaining day to explore the sights including MacBride Museum, Old Log Church, SS Klondike Sternwheeler and the Miles Canyon.

Day 02 Whitehorse - Skagway (110 mi)
Travel south on the Klondike Highway and stopover at Carcross Dessert. Visit the old buildings and historic gold rush places of Skagway. Attend the fascinating National Park Service guided walking tour and walk to the gold rush cemetery and Raid Falls. If time allows take the White Pass & Yukon Railroad to the Summit.

Day 03 Skagway - Haines Junction (150 mi)
Enjoy the one hour ferry trip across Lynn Canal to Haines. From here follow the Haines Highway to Haines Junction, once used by Chilkat Indians. Kluane National Park boosts the largest non-polar icefield in the world and is home to Mt. Logan, Canada's highest peak.

Day 04 Haines Junction - Tok (300 mi)
Follow the famous Alaska Highway as it winds along 154-square-mile Kluane Lake, the largest lake in the Yukon. Arrive in Tok, a trade center for several Athabascan Native villages and known as the Sled Dog Capital of Alaska, with at least one out of every three people involved somehow in raising dogs.

Day 05 Tok - Copper Center (160 mi)
Travel along the Glenn Highway through unspoiled wilderness areas with excellent vistas of the Alaska Range and Mentasta Mountains. In Copper Center visit the historic roadhouse dated back to 1896 - the first lodging place in the Copper Center Valley.

Day 06 Copper Center - Valdez - Seward (100 mi)
Short Drive to Valdez. Take the Alaska Marine Highway Ferry for a scenic cruise to Whittier. From Whittier stopover at the Portage Glacier and the visitor center. Short drive to Seward, gateway to Kenai Fjords.

Day 07 Seward
In Seward you have the option to take a scenic Kenai Fjords Glacier & Wildlife cruise. Visit the mighty Holgate Glacier where you witness calving - a process where giant blocks of ancient ice crash into the water. Get close to massive bird rookeries, sea lion colonies and encounter whales or sea otters.

Day 08 Seward - Denali National Park (330 mi)
On your way to Anchorage check out Portage Glacier and stopover at Alyeska Resort, tucked in a glacier valley between the mountains and the sea. Continue to Talkeetna where you can take a scenic flightseeing tour to Mt. McKinley. Arrive in Denali Village. If time allows enjoy a rafting tour on the Nenana River.

Day 09 Denali National Park
Depart early and enjoy the Denali Wildlife Shuttle Tour to Eielson Visitor Center (included). On clear days you'll be amazed by the natural beauty of the park with towering Mount McKinley in the background. Enjoy the scenery and the wildlife - bears, moose, caribou, wolves and dall sheep. Return to the park entrance at your leisure.

Day 10 Denali National Park - Fairbanks (120 mi)
Short drive to Fairbanks. On your way visit the former trading center for the Athabascan Indians in Nenana. Explore the former gold rush town of Fairbanks. Attend the Riverboat Discovery Cruise, visit the Gold Dredge #8 or greet the dogs of former Iditarod musher Mary Shields.

Day 11 Fairbanks - Dawson City (360 mi)
Travel along the famous Alaska Highway to North Pole. The highway winds along the Alyeska Pipeline though the the foothills of the Alaska Range. Continue on the "Top of the World Highway", rapidly climbing above treeline where it follows meandering ridge tops and offers endless vistas.

Day 12 Dawson City
Discover the unique gold rush history of Dawson City. History is tangible here, with artifacts everywhere, several museums, places where you can try your hand at gold panning and the "sternwheeler graveyard". A tour of a bit of the huge Klondike goldfields is a must. At night visit the Diamond Tooth Gertie's Casino with daily vaudeville shows.

Day 13 Dawson City - Whitehorse (330 mi)
Travel along the Klondike Highway to Whitehorse. Along the way stopover at the Five Finger Rapids with scenic views of the Yukon River and at Carmacks, once an important place for the Yukon River steamers. Spend the remaining day to explore the sights of Whitehorse including MacBride Museum, Old Log Church, SS Klondike Sternwheeler and the Miles Canyon.

Day 14 Whitehorse
Check out of your hotel. Return the rental car.
