Day 01 Anchorage
Arrival in Anchorage. Free transfer to your hotel in downtown. Pick up your rental car. You may explore the highlights of the city during a city sightseeing tour. |

Day 02 Anchorage - Denali National Park (230 mi)
Today you leave Anchorage and drive along the Parks Highway to Denali. On your way you may stopover in Talkeetna and take a scenic flightseeing tour to Mt. McKinley. Continue to Denali Village. If time allows enjoy the a rafting tour on the Nenana River.

Day 03 Denali National Park
Depart early and enjoy the Denali Wildlife Shuttle Tour to Eielson Visitor Center (included). On clear days you'll be amazed by the natural beauty of the park with towering Mount McKinley in the background. Enjoy the scenery and the wildlife - bears, moose, caribou, wolves and dall sheep. Return to the park entrance at your leisure.

Day 04 Denali Nat'l Park - Denali Highway (130 mi)
The scenic, mostly unpaved Denali Highway crosses the wide, wild land south of the Alaska Range. It takes you back to the rich prehistoric past, it's colorful gold rush history and the awesome wilderness that remains throughout much of the state.

Day 05 Denali Highway - McCarthy (140 mi)
The McCarthy Road follows the abandoned Copper River and Northwest rail tracks to the Kennicott River. Enjoy scenic views of the Wrangell Mountains with Mt. Blackburn, Mt. Drum and Mt Wrangell.

Day 06 McCarthy / Kennicott
Explore the ghost town of Kennicott, surrounded by the highest mountain peaks in North America. Take a guided glacier hiking tour on Root glacier, raft down the Kennicott River or take a scenic flightseeing tour.

Day 07 McCarthy - Copper Center
Watch for salmon in famous Copper River as you follow the McCarthy road back to the Richardson Highway. In Copper Center visit the historic Roadhouse. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the Wrangell Mountains from your lodge.

Day 08 Copper Center - Valdez - Seward (100 mi)
Short Drive to Valdez. Take the Alaska Marine Highway Ferry for a scenic cruise to Whittier. From Whittier stopover at the Portage Glacier and the visitor center. Short drive to Seward, gateway to Kenai Fjords.

Day 09 Seward
In Seward you have the option to take a scenic Kenai Fjords Glacier & Wildlife cruise. Visit the mighty Holgate Glacier where you witness calving - a process where giant blocks of ancient ice crash into the water. Get close to massive bird rookeries, sea lion colonies and encounter whales or sea otters.

Day 10 Seward - Anchorage (130 mi)
On your return trip to Anchorage check out Portage Glacier and the Visitor Center. Stopover at Alyeska Resort, tucked in a glacier valley between the mountains and the sea. Sightseers can take the Alyeska Traway to the top of Mt. Alyeska to get a bird's eye view of the surrounding glaciers. Return your rental car in Anchorage.
