Day 01 Whitehorse
Arrival in Whitehorse, the capital of the Yukon Territory. Spend the remaining day to explore the sights including MacBride Museum, Old Log Church, SS Klondike Sternwheeler and the Miles Canyon.

Day 02 Whitehorse - Mayo (250 mi)
Take the Klondike Highway, stopover at Carmacks and at the Five Finger Rapids with scenic views of the Yukon River. Continue along the Silver Trail to Mayo, situated on the Stewart River. Visit Keno City once a boomtown at the center of a thriving mining operation. The small hamlet is home to an eclectic mix of artists, miners and old-timers.

Day 03 Mayo - Dawson City (140 mi)
On your return to the Klondike Highway, stop at one of the many rest stops and view points along the way. Wildlife is abundant along this section of the highway, look for bears, coyotes, moose and more. Continue to the unique gold rush town of Dawson City.

Day 04 Dawson City - Eagle Plains (250 mi)
Take the (gravel) Dempster Highway north through the Tombstone Mountains, North Fork Pass and Ogilvie Mountains. You pass through a wide variety of landscapes, from tundra plains to rugged volcanic mountains.

Day 05 Eagle Plains - Inuvik (230 mi)
After 19 miles, the Arctic Circle intersects the highway at latitude 66 degrees 33 minutes north. Continue on to Fort McPherson and visit the Annie G. Robert House, a restored log house now a visitor centre. Arrive in Inuvik on the Mackenzie River just short of the Arctic Ocean.

Day 06 Inuvik
Explore the area of Inuvik. You can fly to Herschel Island or to Tuktoyaktuk to dip your toe in the arctic ocean. Visit a traditional Inuvialuit Whaling or the Gwich'in Fishing Camp.

Day 07 Inuvik - Eagle Plains (230 mi)
Back on the Dempster again. Stopover at the small communities „Tsiigehtchic“ und „Fort McPherson“. You'll take two short ferry trips over the Mackenzie and Peel Rivers before you reach Eagle Plains.

Day 08 Eagle Plains - Dawson City (250 mi)
You'll retrace your dusty trail back down the Dempster, riding on the only public highway in Canada that crosses the Arctic Circle. More time to see and explore the wildlife and wilderness. Return to the Klondike Highway. You'll see gold dredge tailings as you approach Dawson City.

Day 09 Dawson City
Discover the unique gold rush history of Dawson City. History is tangible here, with artifacts everywhere, several museums, places where you can try your hand at gold panning and the "sternwheeler graveyard". A tour of a bit of the huge Klondike goldfields is a must. At night visit the Diamond Tooth Gertie's Casino with daily vaudeville shows.

Day 10 Dawson City - Fairbanks (360 mi)
The "Top of the World" Highway rapidly climbs above the tree line where it follows meandering ridge tops and offers endless vistas. Visit the unique gold rush town of "Chicken" in the Fortymile Area. Stopover in Tok and follow the famous Alaska Highway as it winds along the Alyeska Pipeline though the the foothills of the Alaska Range.

Day 11 Fairbanks
Explore the former gold rush town of Fairbanks. Attend the Riverboat Discovery Cruise, visit the Gold Dredge #8 or greet the dogs of former Iditarod musher Mary Shields. You also have the chance to take a mail plane flightseeing tour to remote communities like Fort Yukon, Koyukuk or Bettles.

Day 12 Fairbanks - Denali National Park (120 mi)
Leave Fairbanks and drive along the Parks Highway to Denali. On your way visit the former trading center for the Athabascan Indians in Nenana. Arrive in Denali Village. If time allows enjoy a rafting tour on the Nenana River.

Day 13 Denali National Park
Depart early and enjoy the Denali Wildlife Shuttle Tour to Eielson Visitor Center (included). On clear days you'll be amazed by the natural beauty of the park with towering Mount McKinley in the background. Enjoy the scenery and the wildlife - bears, moose, caribou, wolves and dall sheep. Return to the park entrance at your leisure.

Day 14 Denali National Park - Anchorage (230 mi)
On your way to Anchorage stopover in Talkeetna. You have the chance to take a scenic flightseeing tour to Mt. McKinley. Arrive in Anchorage and visit the sights during a self guided city tour including the Downtown Court, Earthquake Park, Ship Creek and the Native Heritage Center.

Day 15 Anchorage - Tok (320 mi)
Drive through the Matansuka Valley, famous for their giant grown fruits and vegetables. Don't miss th
e stopover at Matanuska Glacier, one of the few you can drive to and explore on foot. Tok is a trade center for several Athabascan Native villages and known as the Sled Dog Capital of Alaska, with at least one out of every three people involved somehow in raising dogs.

Day 16 Tok - Kluane National Park (300 mi)
Follow the famous Alaska Highway as it winds along 154-square-mile Kluane Lake, the biggest body of water found in the Yukon. Kluane National Park boosts the largest non-polar icefield in the world and is home to Mt. Logan, Canada's highest peak. Overnight at a lodge located at beautiful Dezadeash Lake.

Day 17 Kluane National Park
Spend your day and try boat or river fishing, hike one of the many trails of Kluane Park, go horseback riding or canoeing.
You may take a spectacular glacier flightseeing tour into the park. If time allows visit the Kluane Museum of Natural History with display's of wildlife in their natural habits, native clothing and artifacts, minerals exhibit and videos.

Day 18 Kluane National Park
Another day to explore Kluane National Park.

Day 19 Kluane National Park - Skagway (150 mi)
The Haines Highway, once used by Chilkat Indians is noted for its grandeur and unmatched alpine scenery. Enjoy the many sights such as Klukshu - a native summer fishing camp and the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve - home of the largest gathering of bald eagles in the world. Take a one hour ferry trip across Lynn Canal to Skagway. Visit the old buildings and historic gold rush places of Skagway. Attend the fascinating National Park Service guided walking tour and walk to the gold rush cemetery and Raid Falls.

Day 20 Skagway - Whitehorse (110 mi)
In the morning you have the opportunity to board the White Pass & Yukon Railroad for a scenic trip to the White Pass Summit. Afterwards take along the South Klondike Highway to Whitehorse. Along the way stopover at Carcross Dessert, known as the world's smallest dessert.

Day 21 Whitehorse
Check out of your hotel. Return your rental car.
