Day 02 Anchorage
Tour Anchorage’s top attractions, all the while within view of three stunning mountain ranges. Then travel to Portage Lake along the scenic Seward Highway. Visit the fascinating Begich-Boggs Visitor Center to see glaciology in action. Your one-hour cruise aboard the Ptarmigan to within 300 yards of Portage Glacier presents a truly personal perspective.

Day 03 Anchorage - Denali National Park
Travel between the mountains of the spectacular Alaska and Talkeetna ranges on an incomparable sightseeing experience aboard the McKinley Explorer railcars. Luxurious glass-domed observation cars carry you along the rails of the historic Alaska Railroad. Take in the wide-open scenery as you travel through the Matanuska Valley, a farming region known for mammoth vegetables, past colorful towns like Wasilla, billed as the “Home of the Iditarod,” along scenic rivers like the Susitna, which means “Mother River,” and across Hurricane Gulch, where the train slows to 5 miles per hour to cross over the trestle built over the creek 296 feet below. From the depot, you’ll be transferred to your accommodations for an overnight stay at magnificent Denali National Park.

Day 04 Denali - Fairbanks
This morning is reserved for an unforgettable Tundra Wilderness Tour. Nature permitting, Mt. McKinley will be visible in all its breathtaking splendor and Denali’s Big Four—moose, caribou, bear and Dall sheep will make an appearance. We’ve done our best to optimize your chances and booked you on the tour that takes you through prime wildlife-viewing areas to Stony Ridge, one of the best Mt. McKinley viewpoints. Here you can see the full vertical rise of the mountain, said to be the greatest in the world. This afternoon re-board the train and travel deeper into Alaska’s lovely interior. This portion of the route includes many scenic highlights including the town of Nenana, where Nenana Ice Classic competitors attempt to predict the date of ice breakup on the river, and the Mears Memorial Bridge, which is one of the largest single span railroad bridges in the United States. When you reach Fairbanks, you’ll be met at the depot and transferred to your hotel for an overnight stay in Alaska’s second largest city. Many optional Fairbanks activities are available to help you make the most of your time in this frontier-friendly metropolis.

Day 05 Fairbanks - Tok
Kick off your day with a visit to historic Gold Dredge No. 8, pan for gold and enjoy a delicious miner’s lunch. Finish with a fascinating journey on the famed Alaska Highway to the village of Tok. Billed as the “Dog Capital of Alaska, ” Tok’s Race of Champions Sled Dog Race,is one of the oldest in the state and the town is a mecca of dog breeding, training and mushing. The Northern Lights are visible August through May of each year, another of Tok’s colorful attractions.

Day 06 Tok - Dawson City
Listen as your motor coach driver regales you with favorite tales as you motor along the Taylor Highway to the settlement of Eagle. Here you’ll board the mv Yukon Queen II for an unforgettable cruise along the legendary Yukon River into the very heart of the Klondike gold country. The “River of Gold" carried thousands of fortune seekers who came here from every state in the union. Today the river is a magnet for those who love wild, untamed scenery virtually untouched by the hand of man.

Day 07 Dawson City
This is where the prospectors landed to set off to stake their claim in the nearby gold fields. Once known as the "Paris of the North", Dawson is a living museum filled with nostalgia. Townsfolk wear costumes and guide tours of the beautifully-restored historic buildings that line the unpaved streets. A visit to the gold fields and Gold Dredge No. 4 gives you a chance to pan for gold just like the sourdoughs did in days gone by. And visit to Diamond Tooth Gertie’s makes your visit complete.

Day 08 Dawson City - Whitehorse
Enjoy the scenery from your motor coach window as miles of untouched wilderness roll by along the Klondike Highway on your way to the Yukon Territory's capital of Whitehorse. You might catch of glimpse of the region’s famed peacekeepers, as Whitehorse is the headquarters for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Another attraction in town is the ss Klondike Historic Site. Tonight, enjoy the high-kicking antics of the Frantic Follies vaudeville revue.

Day 09 Whitehorse – Skagway
Continue on the Klondike Highway to Fraser, British Columbia, and then get ready for a real thrill as you ride the historic White Pass & Yukon Railroad following the still-visible Gold Rush trail to the summit of White Pass. “Too cold for a polar bear and too steep for a billy goat is how the Pass was once described and you can imagine what it must have been like to have been crossing here on foot. But the train will bring you back down the mountain into the port town of Skagway. Here your evening is free for your own explorations and you’ll find no end of fun and adventure in this restored Gold Rush Town. It’s all part of the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park so you can’t help but soak up 1890’s flavor.

Day 10 Skagway – Juneau
Let us show you around this historical gold rush boomtown on a morning tour. You’ll learn about the stampeders who came to Skagway at the Trail of ’98 Museum and hear stories about con artist Soapy Smith and his nemesis Frank Reid at the Gold Rush Cemetery. Take a last look at Skagway on the transfer to the airport. Then Fly to Juneau and transfer to your hotel in Alaska's capital city.

Day 11 Juneau
There’s so much to see and do in Juneau that you might want to stay another day. But if you just can’t stay with us any longer, we’ll take you from your hotel to the airport and bid farewell.
