Insurance Policy - Alaska

Insurance coverage is included in the rental rate with a $1,500 - $2,500.00 deductible. Coverage includes $1,000,000 per person bodily injury liability, $500,000 total bodily injury liability and $100,000 property damage liability (for example, in an accident involving an uninsured driver/ vehicle)

At the time of rental, vehicle drivers must be 25 years of age or older and must have a valid driver's license issued from their state or country of residence. If the license is in a language other than English, the driver should also possess an International Driver's Permit.

Canadian Customs does not allow a Canadian resident to drive a U.S. owned vehicle across the border from the U.S. into Canada. If you have questions about this policy, please contact Canadian Customs.

Authorized drivers may be asked to sign a driving record addendum or be subject to a computerized Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) check. We will rely on the information provided from the electronic DMV verification and/or from the driving record addendum to determine if the renter/authorized driver is qualified to rent/operate the vehicle.

Off road accidents can be easily prevented by (1) driving slowly and (2) having someone outside the vehicle to guide the driver in tight conditions. CDW does not cover off road accidents including, but not limited to those occurring while parking in campgrounds, or in accidents involving overhead objects, undercarriage, awnings or interior damage. It is the driver's responsibility to operate the vehicle in a safe manner and to exercise all caution.

Accidents involving other parties or more than $200.00 damage must be reported to authorities and be fully documented. Failure to report accidents/damage will nullify insurance.
